Le Scaphandre et le Papillon.

Religion is just a way to scam people out of their money. It took me a long time to find this image because it was the one that was the best scene. I loved the aesthetic of the movie. I didn’t like when it bordered too close to the terrain I reserve for movies like Amelie. The recency of the reality of the film surprised me. But generally I loved it because it was horrible and beautiful and I enjoy such combinations.

Oh also, so they did frequency letter reading to allow Jean-Do to dictate the book, but the translation was really strange. For example at one point he is trying to spell dead or death (french: morte) and he stops her at “m” which is clearly audible as she repeats it, and they translate M as D, and then O as E, which was at first really confusing, and then I realized what the subtitles were getting at, but I am unconvinced this was the right choice.
